Richard "Dick" L. Snow

Snow, Richard “Dick” L., age 83, of West Carrollton, passed away April 1, 2025. He was born November 18, 1941 in Dayton, Ohio; the son of the late William and Irene (Johnson) Snow. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Kenneth Snow. Dick is survived by his lifelong partner, Joan Hawkins; children, Dean (Mary) Snow, Greg Snow, Steve (Teri) Hawkins, and Karen Hawkins; grandchildren, Tabetha (Isaac) Snow-Young, April (Daniel) Comer, Autumn (Ryan) Thomas, and Adrien Hawkins; great grandchildren, Wyatt, Ava, Asher, Taytum, Charlotte, and Arlo; cousin, Larry Ashworth; and numerous extended family members and friends.

Dick graduated from Belmont High School in 1960 and then attended at the Dayton Art Institute. He enjoyed a fulfilling career as a commercial artist, dedicating many years to his craft. His passion for creativity was evident in all aspects of his life; he spent his free time drawing, painting, and sculpting, always finding joy in working with his hands. Alongside his artistic pursuits, Dick had a deep appreciation for cars and often spent weekends on the golf course, embracing the outdoors with enthusiasm. He also took great pride in his garden and yard, finding solace and fulfillment in nurturing the beauty of nature. He could always be found with a coffee cup in his hand. Dick's adventurous spirit led him to travel extensively with his beloved lifelong partner, Joan. Their journeys together were filled with memorable experiences and the creation of lasting bonds with family and friends. Dick had a unique gift for friendship, easily befriending those he encountered and leaving a lasting impact on the lives of many. He especially enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren, he will be remembered as a loving dad and grandpa.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, April 11, 2025 at 4:00PM at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Road, Kettering, OH 45429. Family and friends may visit from 3:00PM until the time of service. Richard will be laid to rest at Dayton Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made out to Ohio's Hospice of Butler & Warren Counties in memory of Richard.
