age 60, of Kettering, passed away Thursday, October 28, 2004, at Kettering Memorial Hospital. Dick attended Stivers High School and Cornerstone Baptist Temple. He was employed with General Motors working in Fire & Security and then retired from Delphi after 21 years of service. Dick was a captain on the Kettering Fire Dept. serving as a volunteer for 33 years at stations 34 and 36. Preceded in death by his parents, John and Martha Berger. Survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Helen Berger; 3 children, Sherry (Steven) Marchal and their children, Taylor and Ryan all of Centerville, Kristie (Tim) Bower and their children, Brandon and Dylan all of Xenia and Richard Scott (Jennifer) Berger of Kettering; 2 brothers, John (Cameron) Berger, Robert (Karen) Berger; 1 sister, Patty (Jim) Huffman; numerous nieces and nephews, cousins and special friends. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM, Monday, November 1, 2004 at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd., Kettering with Pastor Jerry Siler officiating. Burial in Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 2-6:00 PM, Sunday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Kettering Volunteer Firefighters Association, at any Fifth Third Bank in care of the Berger Family.
