Richard E. Bruner

BRUNER, Richard E.,”Dick” age 76, of Kettering passed away Sunday, September 18, 2005 at his home. Dick was a member of Christ United Methodist Church, Kettering. He was also a member of the Dayton Lions Club, Alpha Lodge, Scottish Rite, Valley of Dayton, Anticoh Shrine and the Bobbies Unit. He was honorably retired from the HQ 3rd Batallion, 11th Calvary of the regular Army after serving in Europe, Japan and Korea; received the Korean Service Medal with One Battle Star. Dick was the recipient of the Distinguished Service Award for the year 2000 from the Ohio Association of Realtors; in 1981, President of the Dayton Area Board of Realtors; 1984-1987, District Vice President of the Ohio Association of Realtors and in 1989, President of the Greene County Board. Dick was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Josie Bruner. He is survived by loving wife, Oleta; 2 sons, Pride Richard (Anne) Bruner of Tipp City, OH and Justus Edward Bruner of Columbus, OH; daughter, Faith Diane (James) Cox of London, OH; sister, Blanche Rosella Reaver of Arcanum, OH; 2 grandchildren, Terra Lynn and Tasha Marie Bruner and many nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, September 22, 2005 at 11:00 AM at Christ United Methodist Church, 3440 Shroyer Rd., Kettering, with Rev. Dr. Paul Stuckey officiating. Burial in Ithaca, OH. Family will receive friends Wednesday from 4-8:00 PM at the Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd., Kettering with Masonic Services at 7:45 PM.
