age 70, of Kettering, died Sunday, May 20, 2001 at Hospice of Dayton. He was a 1948 graduate of Northridge High School and a 1952 graduate of the University of Dayton. Following graduation, he served in the U. S. Army at Fort Eustis, Virginia and over seas in Korea. Dick joined his father in 1954 forming Roy Hageman and Son Trucking Co. and enjoyed so much working with contractors and employing many truck drivers. He worked with his vice-president and brother-in-law, John Hattery and office manager Shirley Sumner. Dick was a member of Hope United Methodist Church. He served as a Sunday School teacher, church treasurer, sang in the choir and was a small group leader. Dick was also a member of the Greater Dayton Emmaus Community, the John Cissna Lodge #744 F.&A.M. and Scottish Rite Valley of Dayton. Preceded in death by his mother and father, Roy and Dorothy Hageman. Survived by his wife of 48 years, Patricia (Hattery); daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Greg Bell and their children, Matthew and Ami of Springboro; a son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Nancy Hageman and their children, Rachel and Ryan of Boca Raton, FL; daughter and son-in-law, Janice and Martin Sauter and their children, Jenna and Theresa of Centerville; a brother-in-law and his wife, John and Flo Hattery of Kettering; and numerous nieces and nephews. A service to celebrate his life will be held at 10:00 A.M., Thursday in the Hope United Methodist Church, 5980 Wilmington Pike with Rev. Dr. Thomas E. Brown officiating. Burial in David's Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5-8:00 P.M., Wednesday in the Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd., Kettering. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hope United Methodist Church Memorial Fund, 5980 Wilmington Pike, Dayton, Ohio 45459 or to Hospice of Dayton, Inc., P.O. Box 3509, Dayton, Ohio 45401. We appreciate so much the kindness and concern of Dr. Mark Romer and staff and the loving care at Hospice. Dick was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend. He will be missed so much by those who love him.
