age 77, of Kettering, passed away Friday, November 21, 2003. Richard graduated in Pre-Med at Ohio State University and received his doctorate in medicine from Harvard Medical School. He was Chief of Surgery at the Veterans Administration for four years, had a private practice, and was also Chief of Surgery, Chief of Staff and member of the Board for Kettering Medical Center. Richard served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. Preceded in death by his son, Michael, in 1969. Richard is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Jane Ireton (Albers); daughter, Kathleen Ireton of Dayton; son and daughter-in-law, Kevin Ireton and Cynthia Battista of New Milfred, CT; brother, Harvey Ireton of Van Wert; and sister, Patricia Foster of Tucson, AZ. Richard will be remembered as a strong patient advocate providing the same quality care for both the rich and poor. Funeral services will be held Monday at 10:00 AM at the Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd., Kettering, with Pastor Thomas Prochaska officiating. Burial in Graceland Cemetery, Sidney, OH. Family will receive guests Sunday from 5-8:00 PM at the funeral home. In memory of Richard, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 40 S.
