Richard Lee "Dick" Kurpe

KURPE, Richard Lee “Dick”, age 78, of Kettering, passed away on Monday, January 13, 2020. Dick was born on August 21, 1941 in Dayton, OH to the late Helen (nee Silas) and John Kurpe, Jr.. Dick was a kind, quick-witted, and modest man who was loved by everyone, especially his wife and children. He enjoyed swimming/diving, bowling, and fishing. He had a passion for golf (with three hole-in-ones) and “happy hour” with his buddies.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Joe in 2005. Dick is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Marie (nee Thomas); daughter, Kathy (Jeff) Lutz of Oakwood; son, Chris (Kristen) of Roanoke, Virginia; grandchildren, Annie and Liza Lutz, Ali and Joshua Kurpe; brother, John of Dayton; in-laws Elmer Marriot, Jane and Tom Beachler, and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Family will greet friends at a Memorial Visitation 12-2pm on Friday, January 17, 2020 at Woodland Mausoleum, 118 Woodland Ave, Dayton. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Dick’s name to Ohio’s Hospice of Dayton, 324 Wilmington Ave, Dayton, OH 45420.
