GARMAN, Richard "Wayne", age 90, of Dayton, passed away on August 25, 2012.
Wayne and a friend rode their bicycles from Ohio to Florida and back when he was 17 years old. Wayne worked as an engraver at NCR until he retired, then worked at Gem City Engineering. In World War II he served in the U.S. Army under General Patton's 10th Armored Division, where he fought in the Battle of the Bulge.
Wayne loved fishing and enjoyed hunting. He was always there to lend a hand if anyone needed help with repairs on their car or house. He grew the biggest and best tomatoes around.
Preceded in death by his loving wife of 58 years, Antoinette "Toni" (Marksberry); parents, Buford F. and Ocie Marie (Deardoff) Garman; daughter, Judy Minnish; and siblings, Gale Garman, Donald Garman, and Norma Ibaugh. Wayne is survived by daughters, Connie (Cooley) Howarth and Wendy (Mark) Hall; son, Jamie (Maria) Garman; grandchildren, Tommy, Tracy, Joseph, Kristen, and Richie; and great-grandchildren, 1 great-great- granddaughter, nieces, and nephews.
The family will greet friends from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon on Thursday, August 30 at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd., Kettering, OH. Funeral service will be held immediately after. Burial in David's Cemetery.
Gift's in Wayne's memory may be sent to the Alzheimer's Organization (www.alz.org)or Hospice of Dayton. The family extends a special thanks to the staff at 10 Wilmington Place for their love and care.
