POORE, Richard W., 77, of Miami Township, passed away on Wednesday, May 16, 2018.
Richard was born on January 16, 1941, in Augusta, WI to the late Elijah and Ruth (Rich) Poore. He graduated from East High in Madison, WI, and went on to graduate from the University of Wisconsin. He spent 33 years with Kroger before retiring in 2002. Richard was a member of F&AM for 30 years where he was a 33rd degree member of AASR Valley of Dayton, and a Past District Deputy Grand Master of the 2nd Masonic District 02-05. He was a past High Priest and past President of the 3rd capitular district. He was an honorary member of the Huber Heights Lodge #0777 and a longtime chairman of the Robe Room Committee.
He volunteered his time for numerous organizations. He was an avid reader, a Civil War enthusiast, a Green Bay Packers fan and an Eagle Scout. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, who loved his family (and dogs) dearly.
Preceded in death by four sisters, one brother and a nephew. Survived by his loving wife of 35 years Jackie; daughters; Jane (Mark) Thomas, Kathy (Dave) Hammons, and Karen (Josh) Ward; step children, Lisa (Ron) Loxley and Don Paxson; grandchildren, Nicki, Cassie, Sharon, Kelsey, and Josh; 5 great-grandchildren; and numerous extended family and friends.
Memorial service to be held at a later date.
