MCRAE, Rita of Scarborough, Maine formerly of Dayton, Ohio died Friday morning, January 10, 2003, with her husband, Albert at her side, after a brief illness. Rita was born October 26, 1913, the daughter of Paul and Rose Dahlinghaus. She spent her early years in the area of Maria Stein, Ohio and spent most of her adult life in the Dayton, area. In June 2002 she and Albert moved to Maine to live near their daughter. She worked for a short time in Dayton for an advertising agency, and spent most of her married life as a homemaker. Rita traveled widely with Albert, and treasured the mementos of those travels. She was an accomplished seamstress, knitter, and needlepointer. She was a communicant of St. Charles Borromeo Church and served as a greeter at the Church on Sunday. She was predeceased by her son, James Henry McRae. Surviving are her husband of 57 years, Albert McRae of Scarborough, Maine; 2 daughters and sons-in-law, Dr. Mary Ann McRae and husband, Dr. Kim Hodgson of Springfield, Illinois, and Janice and husband, Dr. Lawrence Broda of Falmouth, Maine; grandchildren, Jessica and Zachary Broda, great-grandchild, Madison Broda, and many loving relatives throughout the Ohio area. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, January 18, 2003 at 10:30 AM at St. Charles Borromeo Church, 4500 Ackerman Blvd., Kettering, Ohio. Burial in Calvary Cemetery. Family will greet friends Saturday from 9:30-10:30 AM at the church. A reception will follow at David's Church, 170 W. David Rd., Kettering.
