FARUKI, Mrs. Rita T., formerly Rita Trownsell, 88, died today April 16, 2007. She had been residing at the Lincoln Park complex since 2000. Born in 1919 in Hamilton, Ohio, she was of Irish and German descent. In 1946 she married Dr. Mahmud Taji Faruki and was happily married until his death in Dayton on April 6, 2003. Together they had a son, Charles and daughter-in-law, Michelle, residing in Dayton, and a daughter, Rita and son-in-law, Kenneth Wilson now residing in Lander, Wyoming. Mrs. Faruki was preceded in death by two sisters, Cecelia Bruner and Ann Traub, and a brother, Tom Jackson, all of Hamilton, Ohio. She is further survived by her grandchildren Brian, Jason and Charles Faruki Jr; sister-in-law Catherine McGilvery, niece Cathleen Jackson and nephew Michael Jackson, all in Phoenix. I know a woman of strength and beauty. I have watched her for years. learned from her, been cared for by her, been loved by her in a way that no one else could ever love me. She has been my guide, my protector, my inspiration, and most important, my friend. She will always be these things…She will always be in my heart… She was my mother. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, April 20, at 12:00 noon at St. Albert the Great Catholic Church, Kettering. Burial in David’s Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 11-12:00 at the church before the mass. In memory of Rita, contributions may be made to St. Vincent DePaul Hotel, Inc. 120 W. Apple St., Dayton, OH 45402.
