Robert "Bob" Eugene Thomas

With heavy hearts and profound sadness, we announce the passing of Robert "Bob" E Thomas, a cherished member of the Kettering community. Born on July 28th, 1942, to loving parents Lloyd "Jess" and Amanda Thomas, Bob's journey on Earth came to an end on February 26th, 2024.

Through his dedicated forty years at Chrysler Automotive, Bob earned a reputation as a hardworking and reliable employee before retiring at 63 years old. An avid bowler, Kettering recreation center Euchre card player, and billiards enthusiast. He found joy in the simplest of pleasures, often spending his days enjoying country western music, hunting for bargains at Dollar General or yard sales, and supporting his favorite baseball teams.

Bob's love for the outdoors was evident in his frequent camping and fishing trips with his children to Cowan Lake or Hueston Woods. His grandchildren held a special place in his heart, and he relished every moment spent with them. With his warm and easygoing demeanor, Bob touched the lives of all he met, leaving a lasting impression of kindness and generosity.

Bob is survived by sons Tyler Thomas, Damon (Trisha) Thomas, Daughter Nichole Thomas, Grandkids Brittany Thomas, Kyle (Sarah) Thomas, Zackery Thomas, Gabby Thomas, Logan Thomas, Dylan (Cheyenne) Thomas, Cameron Thomas, Aiden Thomas, Shayne Thomas, Marissa Thomas, Zoie Thomas. Great grandchildren Myles Armstrong, Willow Camp, Oliver Thomas, and Atreus Thomas.

A visitation will be held Wednesday March 6th, 2024 from 10am-12pm at Routsong Funeral Home Kettering chapel (2100 E Stroop Rd, Kettering Ohio 45429). A Funeral Service will follow at noon at the funeral home.

At this time of mourning, we extend our gratitude to Tyler Thomas for his unwavering care and support for Bob during his final years.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to the Dayton Children's Hospital in Bob's honor.

In honoring Bob's life and legacy, let us join to remember a man whose presence brightened our lives and whose memory will live on in our hearts eternally.
