age 82 of Kettering, died Monday, April 9, 2001. He was a 1936 graduate of Cayuga Indiana High School and an Army veteran of WWII. Robert was the Deputy Director of Storage and Transportation Division, Defense Electronic Supply Center at the time of his retirement in 1977. He was a member of Fairmont Presbyterian Church where he was an elder, DESC Executive Development Association and a former member of the Sertoma Club (Decatur, Illinois). Preceded in death by his beloved granddaughter, Cynthia Dawes; parents, Eugene and Carrie McMurtrey; and a brother, Harvey. Survived by his wife of 59 years, Dorothy; 2 daughters, Rita Warder of Chicago, IL and Donna Dawes and her husband, Thomas of Noblesville, IN; a son, Robert McMurtrey and his wife, Joyce of Valparaiso, IN; 4 grandchildren, Shelley Reese and her husband Charles of Chicago, IL, Dr. Mark McMurtrey and his wife Kristin of Indianapolis, IN, Jonathan Dawes of Indianapolis, IN, and Jeffrey Dawes of Noblesville, IN; 2 great grandchildren, Samuel Reese and Joseph McMurtrey; and a brother, Richard McMurtrey and his wife Bernice of Kokomo, IN. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 A.M., Thursday at the Fairmont Presbyterian Church, 3705 Far Hills Ave., Kettering with Rev. David Bickett officiating.
