Robert C. Schenck, Jr.

SCHENCK, Robert C. Jr., age 72 of Dayton, passed away on Thursday, April 1, 2010. Born March 21, 1938 in Dayton, Ohio, Bob was the son of Robert C. Schenck and Jane Mead Schenck. He grew up in Dayton, attended school in Oakwood, graduated from Westminster School in Simsbury, Connecticut and Union College in Schenectady, New York and served two years in the US Army. Bob worked at Duriron Company for 25 years, then left with partners to start Cercona, Inc. He enjoyed fly fishing, traveling and was an avid car enthusiast and built two cars in his retirement years. Bob especially enjoyed the camaraderie of the Wednesday night dinner group and the Tuesday breakfast meetings. From childhood he enjoyed spending as much time as possible at Number Four New York, always describing it as �a little slice of heaven.� Bob is survived by his loving wife, Barbara; two sons, Jim of Wareham, MA and Robert of Austin, TX and daughter Jane and fianc� Jorge Flores of Chicago, IL; two sisters, Carol Smith of Philadelphia, PA and Gertrude Embree of Shreveport, LA; step-brother John Parrott and step-sister Peggy Power both of Colorado; and several nieces and nephews. A Memorial service will be held on Tuesday, April 6, 2010 at 10:00 AM at Woodland Mausoleum Chapel, 118 Woodland Ave, Dayton, OH 45409.
