Robert C Shade

SHADE, Robert C., age 80, of Kettering, passed away Wednesday, December 01, 2004. Robert was the owner of Hecter H. Shay Insurance Agency. He served in the United States Navy during WWII. Robert raced Malibu cars locally and loved volunteering at the Indianapolis 500. He also volunteered at Hospice of Dayton for 10 years and the Kettering Police Department. He was a member of the Sports Car Club of America, the Boys Club, the Optimists and the Wayne Ave. Business Association. Preceded in death by his parents, Russell and Florence Shade; first wife, Betty Shade and sister, Betty Bailey. Survived by his wife, Donna Jean Shade; two sons, Barry of NC and Brad (Lori) Shade of Dayton; four stepchildren, Mark (Charnell) Posey of Kettering, Sue Haycraft of CA, Peggy LaRose of Cassville, PA and Alice (Tim) Neff of Englewood; five granddaughters; three great-granddaughters; five step-granddaughters; three step-grandsons; seven step-great-grandchildren; brother, David of Washington D.C.; one niece and several nephews. Private funeral services. Burial in Woodland Cemetery. Family will receive friends Sunday from 5-8:00 PM at the Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd., Kettering. The family would like to thank Miami Valley Hospital, Life Care Hospital of Dayton, Wood Glen Nursing Home and Hospice of Dayton for their support and care.
