Robert Edwin Baker

BAKER, Robert E., 95, of Kettering passed away on Saturday, January 5, 2008 at Lincoln Park Manor. Robert was a member of the John Durst Lodge #713 Scottish Rite, Past President of the National Association of Letter Carriers (NALC) and a longtime member of Southern Hills United Methodist Church. He retired as Manager of the North Dayton branch of the US Postal Service after 40 years. Robert was preceded in death in 1997 by Lois, his beloved wife of 61 years; his son, Richard in July, 2007 and all of his brothers and sisters. He is survived by his daughter-in-law, Judy (nee Kabbes) Baker of Oriental, NC; daughter and son-in-law, Mary Ann and Buddy Cohen of Birmingham, AL; 5 grandchildren, Bradley Baker and his wife, Sandy, William Baker and his wife, Amy, Sarah Still and her husband, Todd, Kimmerle “K.C.” Cohen and Alex Cohen; 6 great-grandchildren, Austin, Tyler, Madison, Emma, Eric and Amanda Baker. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 10, 2008 at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E Stroop Rd., Kettering with Pastor David Broyles officiating. Robert’s family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 10-11:00AM also at the funeral home. The burial will be in Arlington Cemetery, Brookville, OH immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the Southern Hills United Methodist Church, 2287 S. Dixie Dr., Dayton, OH 45409.
