BLANK, Robert F. “Bob”, age 92, of Washington Twp., passed away Sunday, August 29, 2004, after a brief illness. Bob was born and raised in Oakwood and graduated from Oakwood High School in 1930. He was also a graduate of Ohio University and a staunch Bobcat fan, earning him the nickname of “Bobcat.” Bob and his brothers were the owners of Gem City Lumber Co. which was founded by their father in 1904. He was a member of the Dayton Country Club for over 50 years, past president of Dayton Exchange Club, a member of the Home Builders Association and was on the Board of Directors for the Senior Resource Center. He was a 50 year member of the Mystic Masonic Lodge #405 and Antioch Shrine, and was a member of Oak Creek United Church of Christ. Survived by his wife of 44 years, Rheba; daughter and son-in-law, Shirley and Robert White of Rocklin, CA, and their children, Robert, Elizabeth and Melinda; son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Janet Blank and children, Rebecca, Rob, Sharon and Steve; and six great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM, Thursday at Routsong Funeral Home, 6 Oakwood Ave., Dayton with Rev. Brooks W. Heck officiating. Burial in Woodland Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 5-7:00 PM, Wednesday at the funeral home. Condolences may be sent to the family via the funeral home’s website at www.routsong.com.
