Robert Francis Scott

SCOTT, Robert Francis "Bob", age 92, of Washington Township, passed away on Friday, March 11, 2016. Bob was born on May 12, 1923 in Royal Oak, MI to the late Herbert and Mary Scott. Known to his friends as Scottie, he graduated from Royal Oak High School and earned his Bachelor's degree from Michigan Technological University. Bob served in the United States Air Corp as a Pilot where he excelled at marksmanship. He was the founder, owner, and president of CEAL Corp. and built many beautiful, custom homes in the Plymouth Notch (Centerville), Trails End (Kettering), and Winding Ridge North (Dayton) housing divisions. Bob was an avid outdoorsman who especially loved to pheasant hunt. He and his family spent many years vacationing in Michigan in the cottage that Bob built on the lake. Bob enjoyed and demonstrated great proficiency and ingenuity in woodworking and gemstone crafting, and was an avid fan of the Blues Brothers. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Ruth Marie Scott, in 2004. Bob is survived by his children, Nancy Scott of Dayton, Mary Brahm and her husband Clifford of Mason, James Scott and his wife Cheryl of Cumming, GA, and Jay Scott and his wife Maria of Valrico, FL; grandchildren, Kirby Reiling and his wife Courtney of Alexandria, VA, Brandon Brahm of NY, and Christy Zakroczynski of Auburn, GA; great-grandchildren, Caylynn and Macie Zakroczynski of GA and E.J. Reiling of Alexandria, VA; dear friend, Ann Peacock; and longtime best friend and companion, his dog Sammie. A funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Monday, March 14, 2016 at Christ United Methodist Church, 3440 Shroyer Rd, Dayton, OH 45429. Family will greet friends one hour before the service (10:00-11:00am). Burial in White Chapel Memorial Cemetery in Troy, MI. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Christ United Methodist Church.
