Robert Jackson

JACKSON, Robert, age 89, of Kettering, OH passed away Sunday, November 29, 2020. Robert was born on October 8, 1931 in Mauds, OH to the late Boone & Lillie Jackson. After graduating from Lebanon High School in 1949, he served in the United States Air Force from 1951-53.

Robert began his working career early on in the landscaping business. Following that he established RJ Home Remodeling and Robert Jackson Rentals which he managed for 26 years. While working in this business, he met the love of his life, Norma, who at the time was in need of a kitchen remodel. They married on February 14, 1967 residing in the Dayton Community where they raised their daughter Judy Powell.

Robert has lived in Kettering for the past two and a half years and was a member of Beaver United Church of Christ. Prior to that, he was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ for 25 years and a longtime member of the Dayton Lion’s Club.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents Boone & Lillie; stillborn baby daughter Dominique Sara Jackson, brothers Lucian, Clayton, Ernest, Ellis & Wade Jackson & sisters Edith Morrison, Berniece Aulick, & Maxine Begley. He will be forever loved and remembered by his wife Norma, his devoted daughter Judy (Greg) Powell; three Grandchildren Danielle Hazell Bliss, Nathan (Sarah) Jamison & Ryan Jamison; and six Great-grandchildren Jorden & Kohen Hazell, Jackson Bliss, Mason, Oliver & Guiliana Jamison.

A private family service will be held at 3pm on Sunday, December 27, 2020 at Routsong Funeral Home, 81 N. Main St., Centerville with Pastor Brian Eastman officiating. A live stream of the service will be available to watch on Routsong’s YouTube channel. An inurnment will take place at Lebanon Cemetery at a later date.
