Robert John Baty

Robert John Baty, age 75, of Centerville, passed away on Friday, May 17, 2019. Bob was born in Dayton, OH on February 12, 1944 to the late Virgil and Roasemary (Jolley) Baty. He is survived by his brother, Stephen (Barbara) Baty; nieces: Laura Ort and Jill Taura, Nephew, Robert (Stephanie) Baty; Cousins, Debbie (Gary) Brewer and Jack (Sue) Jolley; along with great nieces and nephews; Brandon (Samantha), Harrison, Henry, Maya and Catherine.
Bob was a hard worker, and with on-the-job-training, he did a little bit of everything at Van Dyne Crotty. Most notably that of being a Materials Handler. He was a faithful employee for 44 years.
He enjoyed socializing and talking with people. He was known for his love of old cars, as he could recall the make and model from years past from when his father Virgil had taken he and Stephen to car-show after car-show. He loved to talk – and people loved to listen!
Bob loved people, and the folks that met Bob, loved him in return. If you met him, you were better for it.
Bob was a lifelong member of Sugarcreek Presbyterian Church, and will be laid to rest privately.
Visitation will be held 4-5:00pm, Wednesday, May 22, 2019 with a Funeral Service at 5:00pm at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd., Kettering, 45429.
