Robert L. Crone

CRONE, Robert L., age 89 of Centerville, entered eternal life Saturday, November 12, 2011. Survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Martha (nee Gruener); three daughters, Barbara Feldmann of Centerville; Kathy (Bill) Seip of NJ and Patty (Mark) Rye of WI ; seven grandchildren, Michele (Bryan) Mazey, Matt (Amanda) Feldmann, Amy (Brad) Kleman; Jackie Seip, Diane Seip (fiancé Wade), Katie Rye (fiancé Jeff), and Christina Rye; great grandchildren, Natalie and Logan Mazey, Millie and Myles Feldmann. Bob’s sister, Rita Ellig of Cincinnati, predeceased him. Bob graduated from St. Xavier High School in 1939 and also was a graduate of the University of Cincinnati, where he was president of Phi Kappa Theta fraternity and also a member of Alpha Kappa Psi. During World War II, he served in the Army Air Corps and included in his numerous awards was the European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with six battle stars and the Air Medal, with cluster. After rewarding positions in advertising with Crosley and sales with National Life of Vermont, Bob joined the Federal Government and retired from there in 1984. He was a long-time member of the Church of the Incarnation and an officer of the Leisure Club. Dad’s favorite things were family, friends, and filling the home with love and laughter. A visitation will be held at The Church of the Incarnation, 7415 Far Hills Ave., in Centerville from 10:30-11:30 AM on Tuesday, November 15, 2011. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the Church of the Incarnation at 11:30 AM on Tuesday, November 15, 2011. Bob will be buried in the family plot at St. Stephens Cemetery in Ft. Thomas, KY.
