GEBHART, Robert, "Bob," 86, of Centerville, passed away at Kettering Medical Center on Saturday, March 15, 2008. Bob worked in his father's A&P grocery store while growing up in Miamisburg. After serving in the US Army during WWII, he worked at NCR for a couple of years, before opening Bob's Party Supply, a small grocery store in West Carrollton. Bob was one of the most well known businessmen serving in downtown West Carrollton for over 30 years. He sold the business before hiring in at Delco Moraine, then working briefly in hardware before he retired in 1985. Bob never slowed down, working hard and striving for perfection. He was also very inventive throughout his life, creating one of the most unique door openers for his business. Bob was a founding member of Christ the King Lutheran Church. He was a member of the West Carrollton VFW Post #3438, the Miamisburg American Legion #165, and was very active at Hithergreen Senior Center. He was preceded in death by his parents, LeRoy and Marie Gebhart and his grandson, Jimmy Gebhart. Bob is survived by his beloved wife, Erma L. (Lucas) Gebhart of 63 years; daughter, Cynthia (Tom) Rossiter of Crossville, TN; sons, Doug (Gabi) of Williamstown, KY and Jack Gebhart of West Carrollton, OH; sister, Jean Ann (Fred) Ranly; brother, Butch (Nan) Gebhart, all of FL; grandson, Kenny (Susan) Smith; 5 granddaughters, Jenna and Megan Rossiter, Shannan (Mike) Ferguson, Nicole and Molly Gebhart; great-grand daughters, Emmi and Ashlyn Ferguson and Cassidy Smith. Bob and Erma, dearly loved their grandchildren and rarely missed a chance to watch them compete in sports or attend school activities. Funeral services will be held at 10:00AM on Wednesday at Christ the King Lutheran Church, 50 Nutt Rd., Centerville, OH 45458 with Pastor Marge Anderson officiating. Bob's family will greet friends on Tuesday evening from 4-7:00PM at Routsong Funeral Home, 81 N. Main St., Centerville. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Hithergreen Senior Center, 5900 Hithergreen Drive, Centerville, OH 45459 or Christ the King Lutheran Church.
