Robert Larkin Brickley

BRICKLEY, Robert Larkin, "Bob", age 76 of Oakwood passed away Sunday, November 27, 2011. Bob was born in Dayton December 30, 1934. He graduated from Oakwood High School in 1952, received his BS from Miami University, Oxford and his MBA from the University of Dayton. Bob was a member of Delta Kappa Epsilon and Kappa Beta Phi fraternities. He was a member of the DEKE House Association at Miami for 20 years, and was president for 15. Bob served two years in the U.S. Army, then worked four years for E.F. MacDonald Co. before he started working for the M.D. Larkin Co. his family's business where he was the president and owner for 44 years. Bob founded the Dayton Darting Association in 1970, and was a former board member of the American Kiteflyers Association. He played handball and racquetball for many years and was the Chairman of the Dayton "Y" Athletic Club in 1974. Bob's love of life was unmatched everyone he knew remembers something Bob taught them. His "live and let live" mentality and his wide span of interests made him an incredible husband, father, brother and friend. Preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Helen Brickley and father-in-law Elmer Tinnerman. He is survived by his wife of 37 years Sandra (Tinnerman) Brickley; son Ryan of Charlotte, N.C.; daughter Morgan of Chicago, Ill.; sister Nancy Brickley of Boston, Mass.; brother and sister-in-law Harvey and Mary Brickley of Atlanta, Ga.; mother-in-law Agnes "Tommie" Tinnerman of Stuart, Fla.; brothers-in-law John, Bill and David Tinnerman of Fla.; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. The family will receive friends from 2:00-6:00pm on Sunday, Dec. 11, 2011 at 745 E. Schantz Ave., Oakwood. In lieu of flowers please make contributions to Hospice of Dayton.
