Robert Lawrence Mcmillan, Jr.

McMILLAN, Robert Lawrence, Jr., age 57, of Dayton, passed away on March 1, 2016. He was born on September 20, 1958 in Springfield, OH. Robert completed the Aresty Institute School of Executive Education-Wharton Executive Leadership Program at the University of Pennsylvania, previously earned a bachelor's degree from the Max M. Fisher College of Business at the Ohio State University, and is a graduate of the School of Journalism at the Ohio State University. Rob's career in financial services, healthcare leadership and private equity took him from executive roles with Merrill Lynch and Morgan Stanley to boardroom and trustee appointments with a number of prestigious foundations and fraternal institutions, including chairman of the Green Foundation of the Kettering Hospital Health Network and the Ohio State University Buckeye Club. He became known to his clients for his ability to overcome complex business challenges, execute effectively in pressure situations and provide exceptional value as a trusted advisor for C-level decision makers across leadership functions. Rob's service as Board Chairman for Kettering Hospital Health Network provided a unique view to sound corporate governance, and his knack for capital fundraising for major medical campuses built on his deep relationships across the healthcare and financial services industries. He is survived by his wife, Sharon McMillan; children, Peter, Benjamin, and Sally McMillan; parents, Robert Lawrence McMillan, Sr. and Helene VonStueben McMillan Erhart; and brothers, Dan (Jenny) and David McMillan. A memorial service will be held at 4:00pm on Saturday, April 2, 2016 at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 East Stroop Road, Kettering.
