Robert Leonard Short

SHORT, Robert Leonard, age 81, of Kettering, passed away on Monday, April 25, 2016. Bob was born on September 30, 1934 in Dayton to the late Frank and Ruth Short. He graduated from Bethel High School and earned his degree in Accounting from Miami-Jacobs College in 1959. Bob proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He worked briefly as an Office Manager for Smith & Schnacke and eventually retired as the Corporate Accounting Manager at Mead Paper Corporation. He enjoyed billiards and golf and was a fan of country & western music. Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia, in 2014 and his step-daughter, Wendy Thomas, in 2013. He is survived by his loving daughter, Kelly (Joe) Lehman of Bellbrook; grandson, Evan Weiler; step-son, Bill (Rhonda) Thomas; step-granddaughter, Jenny (Josh) Pollock; step-great-grandchildren, Alanta and Gavin; brother, Larry Short and nephew, Todd Short of Tipp City; and niece, Kim (Bob) Downham of Indianapolis. A memorial visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00pm on Tuesday, May 3, 2016 at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 East Stroop Rd., Kettering with a time for guests to stand and share memories at 6:00pm.
