age 78, of Centerville, passed away Sunday, September 7, 2003. Bob was a veteran of the Army serving during WWII. He graduated from Ohio State University in 1948 and 1951 from OSU law school and attended LSU. Bob was a member of David’s United Church of Christ. His many memberships include the Far Hills Lodge F Scottish Rite Valley of Dayton; and Antioch Shrine. Bob was a 33rd Degree Mason. He was a charter member of the old Dayton Optimist Club, member of the Kettering Zoning Board and member of the American Legion Post #675. Bob retired as Judge from the Montgomery County Common Pleas Court in 1997, after serving for almost 25 years. He was also secretary of the Ohio Judicial Conference, and former member of St. Luke’s Church of Christ for 65 years before joining David’s United Church of Christ. Survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Jean Brown (West); daughter, Robin (Dana) Stamps of Dayton; son, Rodney M. (Donna) Brown, of Greenville, SC; 5 grandchildren, Kathleen and Donan Whelan, Jessica and Robert M. III and Kristin Brown; 1 great grandson, Bryson Brown. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, September 11, 2003 at 10:00 AM at David’s United Church of Christ, 170 W. David Rd., Kettering with Rev. William Youngkin and Rev. Becky Erb-Strange officiating. Burial in David’s Cemetery. Family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 5-8:00 PM at the church. Masonic services will be held at 7:30 PM, Wednesday evening at the church. If desired, contributions may be made in Bob’s name to Shriners Children’s Hospital, 1900 Richmond Rd., Lexington, KY 40502.
