Robert M. Dominy

DOMINY, Robert Maynard, passed on to his great reward on Wednesday, June 15, 2016. Bob was a great husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Jane; son Stephen (Ylva) Novato, CA; daughter Susan Dieterle (David), Columbus, OH; and Brent Dominy (Elaine) Middletown, OH; as well as six grandchildren: Erin Dominy (Andy), Chris Dieterle, Kevin Dieterle, Angela Dominy, Spencer Dominy and Mitsuo Peterson (Leticia). He is predeceased by his mother Dorothy, father Maynard, sister Judy, and stepmother Marcella. Bob was a veteran of the Korean War and received his electronics training at Keesler AFB, Mississippi. After leaving the service he joined NCR where he worked on the first large NCR computer, the 304. He later transferred to NCR International and traveled extensively, retiring after 29 years. He then spent 4 years at the University of Dayton Office of Computing Activities, retiring in 1991. Bob enjoyed his over 20 years of Cardiac Rehab at MVH, making friends and keeping fit as possible. He was always a positive person. He enjoyed going to the horse races and playing cards with his friends, the Wilson's, the Behrs' and Pat Ballard. Family will greet friends from 10:00am-11:00am on Monday, June 20, 2016 at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd. Kettering, OH with a funeral service to follow at the funeral home. Burial at David's Cemetery. In memory of Robert, donations may be made to Dayton Children's Hospital, 1 Children's Plaza Dayton, OH 45404.
