SPURLOCK, Robert Maurice "Bob", age 77, of Dayton passed away on Tuesday, February, 2013. He was born on July 6, 1935 in Dayton to the late Oscar and Marguerite (Speer) Spurlock.
Bob graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1953. Following in his parents footsteps, Bob served the people of Dayton, Trotwood and the Montgomery County as owner and operator of Summit Towing. He began the towing business in 1963 and continued his dedicated service until his passing. Bob also served for 40 years as a Montgomery County Reserve Deputy Sheriff starting in 1966 until his retirement in 2006.
He is survived by his sons, Robert "Derek" (Shawnna) Spurlock and Nick Taylor; daughters, Robin Spurlock and Sheril McCoy; grandchildren, Elizabeth Ann, Erin, Elizabeth, Kelly, James, Michael and Matthew; seven great-grandchildren and dear friends, Jerald Skinner, William Von Blon, Robert Reed, Wade Shrack and James McKibben.
Family will greet friends from 5:00-8:00pm on Tuesday, February 26, 2013 at ROUTSONG FUNERAL HOME, 2100 East Stroop Road, Kettering. A funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday, February 27, 2013 also at the funeral home. Burial in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens.
The family would like to thank the staff at Good Samaritan Hospital for all their care and compassion for Bob during his final days.
