HANSON, Robert, age 91, passed away June 29, 2018, after a lengthy illness. A resident of Columbus, OH, Bob formerly lived in Dayton where he raised his family and maintained many friendships. He was preceded in death by his parents, James A. Hanson and Marie T. (Schrodt) Hanson; his first wife, Jean T. Hanson; and daughter, Deborah A Hartigan. He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Margaret Peggy Hanson; five children, Pamela Ring (Paul), Cindy Hanson (Robert Mehlick), Sandy McGuire (Derrick), James Hanson (Kathleen), and Stephen Hanson; twelve grandchildren, Lori Paulin, Chrissy Cerny, Matthew Kinser, Nick Kinser, Josh Koehnen, Jennifer Koehnen, Courtney Lindberg, Madison McGuire, Tori Hornsby, Vincent Hanson, Victor Hanson and Valerie Hanson; as well as twelve great grandchildren. A graduate of Anderson High School in Evansville, Indiana and Xavier University, Bob served in the Navy and had a long and successful career as an engineer with Frigidaire and later with White Westinghouse, with six patents. Second to spending time with his family, his favorite pastime was golfing, and he was especially pleased to work at the Brookside Country Club in Worthington after he retired. Bobs family would like to thank the Brookdale Trillium and Brookdale Hospice for the kindness and loving care that they provided to him as they continually called him Mr. Handsome instead of Mr. Hanson, which he thoroughly enjoyed. A visitation will take place from 5:00-7:00pm on Thursday, July 5, 2018 at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd., Kettering, OH.
