Ulreich, Robert J. “Bob”, age 75, of Dayton, OH, peacefully passed away on Friday, October 4, 2024. Bob was born on November 4, 1948 in Hamilton, OH to the late Robert W. Ulreich and Grace Marie (Truitt) Natali. He grew up in Hamilton and later graduated from Talawanda High School in 1966. Bob continued his education at Miami University, which he affectionately called ‘the Harvard of the Midwest’, earning his B.A. in Marketing. He had a long outside sales career with Cannon Microfiche, and later Boehm Inc. selling industrial barcoding equipment, later retiring in 2019. In 1993 he met his longtime partner, Brian Leland, along with his three children. Bob was happiest when he was getting his hands dirty in the garden (or convincing someone else to ‘help’ him). He had a great affinity for music, especially of the 70s, and could often be found listening to his favorite artists Ashford and Simpson. In his retirement his greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. His larger than life personality and dry sense of humor will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is preceded by his parents; beloved grandma, Katherine Alice “Katie” (Kammer) Ulreich; and sister, Natalie Burney.
Bob is survived by his partner of 32 years, Brian Leland; children, Chast (Amanda) Whalen, Adam (Kathryn) Leland, and Wesley Leland; grandchildren, Claire, Lucas, Elyse, and Deeds Leland; sister, Nancy Natali; and numerous extended family and friends.
