Roberta P. "Bert" Burton

Roberta P. "Bert" Burton, age 89, of Springboro, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, December 27, 2023. She was born on March 1, 1934, in Walnut Grove in Pulaski County, Kentucky. At a young age her family moved to Dayton, Ohio.

In 1951, Roberta married the love of her life, James Erbaugh Sr., with whom she shared 28 years.

Roberta worked for a number of years at Mazer Corporation printing company. Known for her warm and nurturing nature, Roberta found joy in caring for others, providing in-home daycare and making a positive impact on the lives of many children. She also opened her home to many children as a foster parent, offering them love, stability, and support during challenging times. Roberta left a mark on countless people in her life.

She enjoyed camping, riding horses and many years ago was known to spend many evenings square dancing.

Roberta's love for animals was evident in the many pets that graced her home over the years.

Above all, Roberta cherished her time spent with family. She delighted in creating lasting memories, whether it was hosting family gatherings, cooking homemade meals, or simply enjoying quality time with her loved ones. She was loved by all who knew her and the world without Roberta will never be the same.

Roberta is preceded in death by her parents; Broyles & Lotis Burton, siblings; Roy Burton, Eileen Hurst, Bill Burton, Barbara Brown, Lucretia McFarland, Harvey Burton, and Robert Burton; and granddaughter, Tammy Erbaugh.

She will be dearly missed by her surviving children; James (Jonelle) Erbaugh Jr., Rhonda (Bob) Leen, and Marilyn (Douglas) Wagner; grandchildren, James Erbaugh III, Steven (Kayla) Erbaugh, and Amy (David) Holtkamp; great-grandchildren, James Erbaugh IV, Makayla Keys, Allyson Erbaugh, Nolan Holtkamp, and Sabrina Holtkamp; great-great grandchild, Holden Keys; siblings Edward Burton and Lanetta Wilkins; and many nieces, nephews, and other extended family.

Roberta's family would like to thank Tapestry Senior Living for all of the care and friendship they provided her over the years.

A visitation will be held from 10:30-11:30am on January 2, 2024 at Routsong Funeral Home , 2100 E. Stroop Rd. Kettering, Oh, 45429, with a funeral service to be held following at 11:30am. A livestream of the service will be available via Routsong's YouTube Channel. She will be laid to rest at Miami Valley Memory Gardens.
