Roger Dean Mccormick

age 74, of Sugar Grove, OH, passed away Saturday, January 26, 2002, in Bradenton, FL. He received his B.S. from Miami University in 1949, M.A. from The Ohio State University in 1957 and his PhD. from The Ohio State University in 1969. Roger was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. At Martinsville Local Schools, Roger was a teacher, coach and superintendent. He was involved in the Kettering City Schools as teacher, principal and asst. superintendent. Roger was a lecturer/adjunct associate professor at Wright State University and an associate professor at University of Dayton. He was a licensed clinical counselor and author of several publications. Roger was a member of Sugarcreek Presbyterian Church, past president of Ohio A.C.L.D. and Dorwood Optimist of Kettering, Phi Delta Kappa - U.D. Chapter, Who's Who of American Educators, Chet Roush Hall of Fame Member, 32nd Degree Mason, Fraternal Order of Jesters and Executive Board of Hide-Away-Hills. Preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Bernice McCormick; and sister, Jeannine McCormick of Hunstville, OH. Survived by his wife of 51 years, Patricia; 2 daughters, Paula McCormick Lopez of Galveston, TX and Heather and her husband, Greg Goodrich of Manhattan Beach, CA; 2 sons, Michael and his wife, Susan McCormick of West Chester, OH and Mark and his wife, Christine McCormick of Wilimington, OH; 5 grandchildren, Andy, Tony, Logan, Zachary and Chelsea; and a host of special and beloved family members and friends. The family will greet friends from 5:00 - 7:00 PM, Thursday, in Routsong Funeral Home, 81 N. Main St., Centerville. Funeral services will be at 10:30 AM, Friday, in the funeral home with Revs. Bob Quick and Chuck Loveless officiating. Burial in David's Cemetery, Kettering.
