COLEMAN, Ronald Dean, age 72, of Bellbrook, OH, better known as Coach, Pops, and Papaw, went to be with the Lord on September 21, 2023. Ron was born in Greenfield, Ohio to the late Charles and Susie Coleman on March 31, 1951. He graduated from McClain High School in Greenfield and went on to attend Wilmington College. There Ron earned his B.S in Education while competing as a four-sport athlete. He later earned his Masters in Education Administration at Antioch College.
Ron was an educator with multiple schools for 35 years, a decorated coach, and a color commentator with Wright State for 10 years. He was proud to have been involved in career based intervention for at-risk students at Stebbins High School; where he was able to give them the guidance and tools they needed to complete their education. Ron, with his family, was actively involved with Coleman 4 A Cure, his cancer foundation. He and his wife Joanne have been members of Fairhaven Church since 2010.
Ron was a beloved husband, father, papaw, and friend to many. It is difficult to put into words the legacy that he will leave behind. In his words, he is always blessed. "If I am fortunate enough to live tomorrow, I win, and if die tomorrow, I still win."
He is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Joanne, and his children; Susan (Michael) Coleman-Pierce, Kyle (Megan) Coleman, Kurtis (Laura) Coleman, and stepchildren; Matthew (Leslie) Fritz, Kristen (Brian) Starrett, and Andrew (Elizabeth) Fritz. Together they have 14 grandchildren; Ethan, Spencer, Kameron, Nina, Naomi, Kyla, Karrah, Kurtis Jr, Khloe, Sloane, Grace, Gabby, Cullen, and Addie Kate. Ron is survived by his brother Daniel, and his brother James (Beverly) among more family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings Charlotte, Glenn, Gene, Pete, Evelyn, Estella, Elmoine, and Donald.
The family of Ronald Coleman would like to thank the staff at Miami Valley, Kettering Health, Sugarcreek Direct Family Care, and PAM Rehabilitation In-Patient Hospital for the exceptional care they provided.
