It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Ronald Gabbard, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and esteemed member of his community. Ronald peacefully entered eternal rest on January 31st, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love, resilience, and cherished memories.

 Ronald, born on April 8th, 1937, in Dayton, Ohio, was a man of many passions and achievements. After graduating from Fairview High School in 1956, he answered the call of duty and enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, proudly serving his country for eight years. Ronald's devotion to his homeland was a testament to his unwavering commitment and honor.

 Following his honorable discharge, Ronald embarked on a successful career in industrial sales, where he forged lasting professional relationships and made a significant impact within his industry. His hard work and dedication earned him the respect and admiration of colleagues and clients alike. Ronald retired in the late 90s, allowing him and his beloved wife, Peggy, to embark on a joyous chapter of their lives, filled with travels and the pursuit of their shared dreams.

 Ronald cherished his role as a family man, finding immense joy in spending time with his cherished grandkids. Married for 47 blissful years before Peggy's passing in 2003, their love and partnership served as an inspiration to all who knew them. Ronald's role as the patriarch of his family was not only one of guidance but also one of unconditional love and support, cementing his place as a mentor and role model.He is also preceded in death by his parents Willard and Kathleen Gabbard, and his son Steven Lee Gabbard.

 He is survived by his loving son Michael (Jamie) Gabbard. Ronald's grandchildren, Rachael (Christopher) Louk, Ryan Gabbard, Ross (Natalie) Gabbard, and Zachary Harris, will forever carry the memories of a doting grandfather in their hearts. The light of his life continued to shine through his great-grandchildren, Elle, Haden, Vincent, Benton, and Samuel.

 In celebration of Ronald's remarkable life, funeral services and ceremonies will be held at Routsong Funeral home Centerville chapel (81 N Main Street). Family and friends are invited to gather for a visitation Tuesday February 6th from 5-7pm to honor and pay their respects to this extraordinary man. A Funeral service will be held Wednesday February 7th at 10:30am at Routsong Funeral home Centerville chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Ohmer Park United Methodist Church

 Special gratitude is extended to the compassionate staff at St. Leonard's Rehab facility and Dayton Hospice for their exceptional care and support during Ronald's final journey.

 Ronald Gabbard will forever be remembered as a pillar of strength, love, and generosity. His legacy will continue to inspire those fortunate enough to have known him. May he find eternal peace in the heavenly gardens he so lovingly tended in life.
