WAGSTAFF, Ruby Himes, age 96, a lifetime resident of Dayton and Kettering, passed away Sunday, October 22 at Bethany Village, Centerville. She was the daughter of the late John Klee Himes and Viola Recher Himes. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry E. Wagstaff. Mrs. Wagstaff was a graduate of Steele High School and the University of Dayton. She was employed as a teacher in several Dayton Schools ending her career at age 70 at Ruskin School. She had been a member of the Dayton College Club, Dayton Music Club, Chamber Music Society and The Engineers Club. She was a member and past Deacon at Fairmont Presbyterian Church where she had helped coordinate their Mobile Meals Program. Mrs. Wagstaff is survived by a nephew, John K. Himes II and a sister in law, Dorothy F. Himes, both of Destin, Florida; a niece, Beverly Himes Taylor of Plantation, Florida; 3 great nieces, a great nephew and 5 great, great nieces and nephews. Committal services will be held Thursday, 11:00 AM, November 2, 2006 at Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery. A memorial service is planned for 2:00 PM at Fairmont Presbyterian Church, Kettering, following the committal with a reception to follow immediately after the service at the church. In memory of Mrs. Wagstaff, contributions may be made to the Fairmont Presbyterian Church Landscaping Fund, 3075 Far Hills Ave., Kettering, OH 45429.
