age 77, of Dayton passed away Friday, December 19, 2003. Russell was a 1950 graduate of Renssalear Polytechnic Institute (RPI) and was a licensed professional engineer. He retired from Calspan in 1990 after 30 years of service. Russell was a veteran of WWII, serving as a Sgt. in the Army Air Force. He was a member of Lutheran Church of Our Savior and a member of the Masonic Lodge #262 F & AM in TN. He was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Alfred and Gordon Van Steenburgh. Russell is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Frances Van Steenburgh (Conway); son and daughter-in-law, Russell Jr. and Heather Van Steenburgh; and daughter, Robin Van Steenburgh all of Seattle, WA. Memorial services will be held Monday, December 22, 2003 at 11:00 AM at the Lutheran Church of Our Savior, Oakwood, with Pastor Gary Eichhorn officiating. Burial in David’s Cemetery. Family will greet friends one half hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Lutheran Church of Our Savior Memorial Fund, 155 E. Thruston Blvd, Oakwood, OH 45419.
