Ruth D. Whiting

WHITING, Ruth D., age 95, of Centerville, OH passed away on Friday, January 1, 2010. Ruth was born in Raymond, New Hampshire, daughter of the late Carl and Grace Whiting. Raised by a cousin, the late Lilla L. Dyer in Randolph, Vermont and Whittier, California. Ruth was a graduate of Whittier Union High, Fullerton Junior College, and Iowa State University. She enjoyed home economics positions with women's magazines in New York city; the Bureau of Home Economics in Beltsville, Maryland; International Harvester Refrigeration Division in Chicago and Evansville, Indiana; and finally with Frigidaire in Dayton, Ohio. Ruth was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church; Life Member of Electrical Women's Round Table; and a former member of: American Home Association, Home Economists in Business, Pilot Club of Dayton, and Delta Zeta Sorority. Survived by cousins including Jan and Dave Ladd of Sneads Ferry, NC and Barb and John Hackett of Oxford, Maine. No services.
