Ruth E. Howley

age 72, of Dayton, passed away Thursday, May 13, 2004 at Life Care Hospital in Miamisburg. Ruth was a longtime member of Church of the Ascension Catholic Church and worked in the church rectory. She was an active member of St. Mary’s and Patterson Co-op Alumni Association and participated in many different card clubs. Ruth worked in the banking industry for 17 years. She is preceded in death by her husband, John Howley in 1999, and her parents, Vincent and Leona McMahon, sister and brother-in-law, Rita and Mick Koors, brother-in-law, Bill Yensel and infant brother, Paul McMahon. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Monica and Rob Hohl and their children, Christopher, Elizabeth and Allyson; 3 sons and daughters-in-law, Kevin and Cindy Howley and their children, Sara, (Erin, Megan and their mother, Carla Howley); Mark and Joyce Howley and their children, Michelle and Christina and 2 great grandchildren, Alexandria and Camyrn; and Brian and Diana Howley and their children, Shane and Travis; 2 dedicated and beloved sisters and brothers-in-law, Eileen and Sylvester “Red” Osterfeld and Virginia and Eddie Griffin; 3 devoted and loving sisters-in-law, Patty Yensel, Peg Howley, Joan Howley and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank Ruth’s many wonderful friends, and neighbors who were so supportive and loving throughout her life. A memorial mass will be held 10:00 AM Tuesday, May 18, 2004 at Church of the Ascension, 2025 Woodman Dr., with Father David Brinkmoeller officiating. Burial in Calvary Cemetery. Family will receive friends Monday from 5-8:00 PM at the Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd., Kettering.
