Ruth Evangeline Lackey

LACKEY, Ruth E., age 94 of Kettering, formerly of Clearwater, FL, passed away on December 20, 2005 at Oakcreek Terrace Nursing Home. Ruth moved to Clearwater, FL in 1973, where she was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. After returning to the Dayton area, she became a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church and had been a member of Hope Lutheran Church for 37 years, where she also served as church secretary for over 10 years. Ruth was Past President of the following organizations: Montgomery County Council P. T. A., Huffman Elementary P.T.A., Hope Lutheran Church Women’s Organization, Resident Council at 10 Wilmington Place and St. Paul’s Lutheran Church Women’s Organization in Clearwater, FL and she was also a Life Member of the Ohio and the National P.T.A. Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Richard R. Lackey and her daughter, Barbara L. Baxter. She is survived by her son, Richard L. Lackey and wife, Suzane of Kettering; grandchildren, Daniel B. Lackey and wife, Colleen of Kettering and John D. Lackey and wife, Karen of New Albany; great-grandchildren, Dara, Brent, Maria, Katie, Nathan, Charity and Hope. A funeral service will be held at 12noon on Friday, December 23 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 901 E. Stroop Rd., Kettering with Pastor Thomas Prochaska officiating. Ruth’s family will greet friend’s at the church on Friday from 11:00AM until the time of the service. Ruth will be buried in Sylvan Abbey Memorial Park in Clearwater, FL.
