BECHER, Ruth Miller, of Bermuda Village in Advance, North Carolina, formerly of Dayton, Ohio and Delray Beach, Florida died September 12, 2009 at Bermuda Village Health Center. Mrs. Becher was born August 10, 1912 in Dayton, Ohio. She graduated from Dayton Steele High School and Ohio Wesleyan University, where she was affiliated with Delta Gamma Sorority. She was a member of Fairmont Presbyterian Church in Dayton, Ohio; and was a member of Sycamore Creek Country Club and The Women's Club, both in Dayton. She was a volunteer at Kettering Memorial Hospital for many years. She is preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Forrest James Becher, Sr.; son, David Andrew Becher; and sister, Florence Miller Rickard. Surviving are son, F. James Becher, Jr. and wife, Betty, of Winston-Salem; daughter-in-law, Judy R. Becher of Donna, Texas; grandchildren, Paige Becher Langston and husband, John, of Goldsboro, North Carolina; Kristin Becher Frankum and husband, Charles, of Denver, Colorado; Drew Becher of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; Clayton Becher of Chicago, Illinois; and six great-grandchildren. The family wishes to express their gratitude to dear friends Grace Pollard and Odessa Good, the staff at Bermuda Village Health Center and Hospice & Palliative Care of Davie County for the love and care given to Ruth. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Hospice & Palliative Care Center, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103. Vogler Funeral Home in Clemmons will be assisting with arrangements. Routsong Funeral Home in Dayton, Ohio is handling services. Funeral services and burial will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, September 18, 2009, at Woodland Mausoleum in Dayton.
