Ruth Myers

MYERS, Ruth Sauter, loving wife, mother and friend, passed away May 15, 2018 at the age of 90. Ruth was born in 1927 in Cincinnati, Ohio to John Sauter and Adelaide Gieske Sauter. She was preceded in death by her sister, Jean Packard; brother, John Sauter; husband, Robert (Bob); grandson, Kevin. She is survived by her four children, Bob Myers Jr. (Karen), Jean Myers (Allison), Patricia Eden, and Karen Enright (Patrick); ten grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; her sister, Marian Irwin; sister-in-law, Connie Sauter, and a loving extended family. Ruth graduated in 1945 from St. Joseph Academy in Columbus, Ohio. She married Bob in 1952 and together they raised their family in Kettering. Ruth was actively involved with their church communities at Holy Angels in Dayton and St. Charles Borromeo in Kettering. She sang in the church choir, was an active volunteer and worked in a local medical office. She and Bob had an active community of friends, neighbors, and coworkers, sharing regular dinners and many a game of bridge. Ruth loved her garden, was known for her flowers, and never failed to notice a beautiful blue sky. She had a song for every occasion. Devotion to her husband, family and God sustained her, and the rosary was her prayer and meditation. Ruths compassion, devotion, kindness, sense of humor and gratitude were a gift to us all. Our family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of St. Leonard and to Hospice of Dayton for their attentive care to Ruth and to her family. Friends are invited to Bob and Karen's home, 1103 Chisolm Trail, Dayton, Friday, May 18, between the hours of 6-8 pm, to share fond memories and condolences. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, May 19 at St. Leonard chapel at 8100 Clyo Rd. Centerville, Ohio. Interment at Resurrection Cemetery in Columbus, Ohio at 11:45 am.
