Sally Henn Riffle

RIFFLE, Sally (Henn), age 87, passed away on Wednesday, March 7, 2012. She was a graduate of Oakwood High School class of 1943 and Hollins University, Virginia class of 1947. As president of the Junior League of Dayton (1956-1958) she was instrumental in starting the lecture series Town Hall and the Dayton Art Institute Art Ball. She was a member of the Dayton Antique Study Club, Fairmont Presbyterian Church, and was on the Board of the Oakwood High School Alumni Association. She was on the Oakwood Centennial committee in 2008 and also was chairman of Oakwood High School's 75th Anniversary of the first high school class to graduate (1999). Preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Alberta Henn; husband, H.F. "Pete" Riffle; brother, Carl L. Henn; and sister-in-law, Eugene. She is survived by sons, Peter and daughter-in-law Carol of Miller, IN; Randall and daughter-in-law Susan and granddaughters Kelsey and Samantha of Augusta, GA. A memorial service will be held at 5:00pm on Monday, March 12, 2012 at Fairmont Presbyterian Church, 3705 Far Hills Ave., Kettering, OH 45429, with Rev. Denise Ingram officiating. The family will receive friends at the church immediately following the service. A private inurnment service will take place at David's Cemetery.
