DIORIO, Samuel, J., (Sam) age 82, of Kettering passed away Monday July 23, 2007 at Heartland of Centerville. He was born November 5, 1924 in Dayton, OH and was the son of Joseph and Santina Diorio. Sam is survived by his wife of 64 years, Lorraine, his 3 children, Ron (Sandy) Diorio, Steve (Carol) Diorio and Debbie (Scott) Graham; 5 grandchildren, Steve (Pam) Diorio, Todd (Kellie) Diorio, Scott Diorio, Jenny (Tim) Lawson, his special granddaughter, Carly Graham;7 great-grandchildren, Erica and Julia Diorio, Emma and Drew Diorio, Kaila Diorio and Jake and Josh Lawson; 2 brothers, Joseph and Fabian Diorio; 1 sister, Florence (Dolly) Angel and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Michael and sisters, Mary, Angela and Cecelia. Sam was a WWII veteran of Iwo Jima, and retired from Navistar, Dayton. He was a life member of VFW Post 2800 and attended Belmont United Methodist Church. Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 28, 2007 at 1:00 PM at Belmont United Methodist Church, 2701 S. Smithville Rd., Dayton, with Rev. David Tackett officiating. Burial in Miami Valley Memory Gardens. Family will receive friends Friday from 5-8:00 PM at the Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd., Kettering. In memory of Sam, contributions may be made to Belmont United Methodist Church. Condolences and other memories may be visited at the Routsong website at www.routsong.com.
