Samuel Roy Burns

BURNS Jr., Samuel Roy age 83 of Kettering passed away on Monday, June 8, 2009 at his residence. Roy received a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from Eastern Kentucky University. He retired from GM after 31 years of service and was a long time member of Sugar Creek Presbyterian Church. Roy was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel R. and Alma Burns; brother, Donald Burns and grandson, Christopher Burns. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Lena Burns; son, Samuel R. (Jane) Burns III of Kettering and their children, David M. and Richard A. Burns and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 12, 2009 at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd., Kettering at 10:00 AM with The Rev. Dr. Julia K. Wharff officiating. Burial in David's Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 5-7:00 PM on Thursday, June 11, 2009 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Sugar Creek Presbyterian Church 4417 Bigger Rd.
