Sandra L. Lane

LANE, Sandra L., age 65, of Springboro, died at home and went to be with the Lord on October 9, 2005 following a courageous battle with cancer. The joy of the Lord was her strength. Sandi was born in Lancaster, PA on November 20, 1939, the daughter of John and Helen Espenshied. She was married to Ray on June 28, 1962, and they enjoyed 43 wonderful years of marriage. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Col. Jack Espenshied, USAF. Sandi is survived by her husband; Dr. Raynald and sons; Todd of Omaha, NE, Bruce (Karen) of Hilliard, OH, Christopher (Jill) of Hilliard, OH and Dr. Jeffrey (Amy) of Indianapolis, IN, grandchildren; Danielle, Jessica, Robert, Megan, Joseph, Bethany, Sarah, Jonathan, Aaron and Grace, brother; Terry Espenshied and sister-in-law; Jody Espenshied. Sandi graduated from Delaware (Ohio) High School in 1957 and Marietta (Ohio) College in 1961, where she was sorority president and received many honors in speech, debate and drama. She loved the Lord, her family and time spent in Vermont. Sandi was a devoted Bible Study teacher and touched hundreds of lives with her inspirational prose and poetry. She authored five books regarding Christian living, the most popular being, “It Crossed My Mind.” As a long-time member of Centerville Community Church, her joy was to participate with the choir and “sing to the Lord.” Sandi’s family will receive friends on Thursday, October 13 from 5-8PM at Routsong Funeral Home, Centerville Chapel, 81 N. Main St. A funeral service will be held on Friday at 10:30AM at the Centerville Community Church, 10688 Dayton-Lebanon Pike, Centerville with Rev. Dr. Kenneth Liu officiating. Burial will be in Miami Valley Memory Gardens.
