Sandra Lee Groves

GROVES, Sandra Lee, "Sandy" (Wimmers) of Kettering, beloved and devoted daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away Sunday April 16, 2017 at Lincoln Park Manor. Sandy graduated from Stivers High School in 1955 and eventually retired from MotoPhoto in 2000. She was a long-time active member of Belmont United Methodist Church serving in Joy Circle and Homebuilders. She was also involved in various organizations and clubs including, Beta Sigma Phi international sorority, Kettering schools PTO, Defiance College Parent's Association, and Falcon Club. She was a breast cancer survivor. She enjoyed decorating cakes for everyone's celebrations, cheering on her grandson in his sporting events, traveling with family and friends, and dining out with her husband. She was a friend to all with her kind and generous spirit. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Nellie (Mowery) Wimmers. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Donald; son and daughter-in-law Michael and Robin; grandson, Mitchell; sisters-in-law Becky Todd and Linda Lester and many long- time friends. Visitation will be held on Friday, April 21, 2017 at 5:00-8:00pm at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd., Kettering. Funeral Service will be on Saturday, April 22, 2017 at 10:00 am, also at the funeral home. Burial at Calvary Cemetery.
