VICE, Sara P, age 66 of Dayton, Ohio passed away Monday, January 31st after a long standing battle with ovarian cancer. Sara was born March 10th, 1955 in Elgin, Illinois. After completing high school, she went off to pursue a degree in sociology at the University of Illinois where she met her lifelong friends in Alpha Omega pre sorority “AOπ” During those high school and college years, Sara found her voice and could be seen using it to the fullest in numerous choirs, most notably Apollo in chorus in Chicago which dates all the way back to 1872. Sara didn’t just sing for them, she also became a member of the board. Later on, Sara would go on to sing at the May festival in Cincinnati for four years and after she went to sing for the Bach Society of Dayton for 11 years. Not only a talented singer but a skilled freelance writer and her career allowed her to write for many different charities and companies and news outlets.
When Sara wasn’t writing she could be found traveling to Europe with her husband of 16 years, Roy Vice. Sara cared about the Dayton community so much so she was awarded Oregon Historical District’s most valuable trustee twice.
