Selma Fern Moreland

MORELAND, Selma F., age 96, of Kettering, passed away on February 17, 2016. She was born in Kentucky on May 5, 1919 to the late Jake and Lamah Holmes. Selma dedicated her life to taking care of her family. She was a homemaker and took great pride in her work. Selma was known to keep a drawer full of goodies for her grandchildren, her favorites being Ester Price creams and Werther's Original's. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 69 years, Ernest Moreland; sons, David and Larry Moreland; daughter, Loretta Moreland; and grandson, Dana Hesler. Selma is survived by her daughter, Marjorie Hesler; son, Richard (Robin) Moreland; grandchildren, Susie (Nick) Beener, Molly (Barton) Meyer, and Claire Moreland; great-grandchildren, Sarah (Brett) Hiatt, Jessie Vocke, and Nicholas Beener; great-great-grandchildren, Mackenzy, Keagyn, Nolan, Georgia, and Warner; sister, Nedra Kelly; and several other grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. The family will greet friends from 5:00-7:00pm on Sunday, February 21, 2016 at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd., Kettering. A funeral service will be held at 10:00am on Monday, February 22, 2016 also at the funeral home. Burial in Woodland Cemetery.
