FARMER, Shirley E., 75 of Wilmington, OH, passed away Saturday, August 18, 2007 at Hospice of Dayton. Shirley is preceded in death by her father Ernest G. Strausbaugh, her sister, Ernestine “Tina” Jones and her brother James G. Strausbaugh. She is survived by her husband of 60 years James T. Farmer, Sr.; her mother, Sarah Irene (Hill) Strausbaugh of Wilmington; 1 son James T. Farmer, Jr. of Wilmington, OH, 1 daughter; Rebecca Stegall of Dayton, OH, 2 grandchildren; Cameron (Angela) Stegall of Dayton and Shannon Stegall of College Park, MD, 2 sisters; Carolyn (Carol) McGlasson of KY and Roberta (George) Blake of FLA, 1 foster daughter; Vickie Gilpin of TN. Sisters-in-law Thelma Strausbaugh, Norinne Farmer, Roma (Ralph) Phillips and brother-in-law Bob Bremer. She leaves a host of beloved family (both by blood & of our hearts) and friends. Shirley retired as an educator in 1993 from the Centerville School system, having worked at Village South, Normandy Elementary and the Centerville Kindergarten Village. Shirley and daughter Rebecca are co-owners of Serendipity Gardens, formerly of Bellbrook. She is a founder of the Midwest Hybridizers daylily group. Funeral services will be held 12:00 PM Friday, August 24, 2007 at the Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stoop Rd. Kettering, OH with Carter Click and Cameron Stegall officiating. Burial will be in the Bellbrook Cemetery. The family will receive friends 4:30 to 7:30 PM on Thursday August 23, 2007 at the funeral home.
