Shiv Kumar Bakhshi

BAKHSHI, Shiv Kumar, age 79, of Washington Twp., (Dayton), formerly of Columbus, passed away Wednesday, February 10, 2021. Shiv was born October 2, 1941 in Lahore, India to Bir Bal Bakhshi and Shanti Devi Bakhshi. As a well-educated Punjabi man, Shiv came to the U.S. to attend The Ohio State University where he earned his Master of Science in Mechanical-Engineering and met the love of his life ‘Chrispy.’ Later he earned his MBA from the University of Dayton. Shiv was a Professional Engineer, having over 200 patents. He had an extensive career at Owens Corning. Shiv served as the President & CEO at Burke Products until his retirement. He continued to serve on the Board of Directors until his passing. He was a member of the OSU Alumni Association, as well as the Centerville Community Church. Shiv loved to travel the world especially with his family. A devoted family man, Shiv loved nothing more than spending time with his children, and later, grandchildren.

Shiv is preceded in death by his parents and brothers Ishwar, Sagar.

He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years Christine; children, Shana (Shannon), Aaron (Susan), and Jay (Erin); grandchildren, Jack, Ari, Bella, Teddy, Juliet, Lyllian, Sam, Adilynn, and Charlotte; sisters Krishna Sherma, Santosh Saraswat, DevHutti Vijra; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and other extended family.

Family will greet friends Wednesday, February 17 from 3:00pm-6:00pm at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd., Kettering. Funeral Services will follow at 6:00pm at the funeral home.
