HALASZ, Stephen "Steph", age 81, of Dayton, formerly of the Cincinnati area passed away on Thursday, September 20, 2012 at his home.
Steph was born in Bakonycsernye, Hungary on December 24, 1930 to the late Andrew and Elizabeth "nee Nochta" Halasz. He served with the Hungarian Army. Steph was a draftsman for Mack Trucks in Allentown, PA and later at Weir-Kilby in Cincinnati.
Preceded in death by his parents and brother, Ferenc, Steph is survived by his wife, who he married on June 21, 1958, Sandy "nee Gorr", daughter, Stephanie H. (Jim) Woeste of Dayton, and grandson, Joshua Woeste.
A funeral service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 26, 2012 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 901 E. Stroop Road, Kettering. Family will greet friends from 4:00 6:00 p.m. before the service at the church. Entombment will take place Thursday, September 27, 2012 at David's Mausoleum at 9:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society or animal shelter of your choice.
